It's a big upgrade to NanoPi M4. I have finally had enough of RK3399 chips and their issues and invested some money into proper intel CPU, well worth it. Hardware wise we are looking at Intel CPU, Intel chipset for Wifi and Bluetooth and a Realtek gigabit Ethernet controller... these are all top notch.... but there is a but and that but is the DRAM-less SSD and it's 2242 format. From the attached benchmark we can clearly see the random 4k read and writes are suffering from this. While the SSD can be replaced, I am having trouble finding one with DRAM in 2242 format. I am giving 4 stars, because of that. With 2280 we would not have this problem. Software wise it comes with win10 PRO pre-installed, but since I wanted this to be my NAS server, I installed Kubuntu 20.10 over it. It works great. It fells amazing when you just go to official linux website, download and install. With ARM you need to use some crap fork of ubuntu. It has a proper BIOS installed and namely I was looking for option if the power is lost, it boots itself back up auto. It does have that option and it works. I have no idea how one would update BIOS on this tough.
