The operating voltage prescribed by the manufacturer of the motor itself is 30V !!! https://product.mabuchi-motor.com/detail.html?id=90 The gearbox was designed with this consideration (20.000 rpm input), so it will run 5 times slowly than expected when you use it at 3-9 volts (as mentioned here). My 176 rpm version is able to achieve 50 rpm at 9V and about 20rpm at 3V.

AEKron My 281 RPM version gave me about 140 RPM at 3V. I used my finger on the shaft and a stop watch.
