It's more like e-paper or electric etchosketch (sic). The quality of the 'image' is fine though a little more contrast between the screen and the imprint would've been nicer. the delete button clears the screen nicely but if you've left the screen with writing on it for any period of time you might have to press it a couple of times to get pristine. I would recommend buying the protective case or if you have a spare tablet case then use it. The notepad is only a few mm thick and could easily be damaged.
