PhilS This item is extraordinarily difficult to open either to fix to the wall or replace the batteries. I tried all sorts of flat blade screwdrivers to open it up, but no method worked. It seemed to be on the point of breaking. Certainly, using the supplied 3M adhesive pads, the item will detach itself or damage the surface before it opens. The only thing I found to open it was a blunt spatula with a curved blade that was slightly thicker than the slot. This opened the case a little bit and then a slight leverage opened it. For something so difficult to open, Sonoff should have used a screw or supplied tool to open it safely.

PhilS That's dreadful. The plastic bags are generally pretty good, but somewhere along the line, someone has not taken good care. It looks almost as though it has been immersed in water or left in the open in a rainstorm or stored in a flooded warehouse. Your credit card company shoud refund, but get onto the seller and give them a bol**ing. I'm sure it wouldn't have left their premises like that, but who knows. Like the other commenter said, why give them 5 stars? Minus 5 more like

PhilS Agreed,very poor backlighting. It will only work, and still very dimly, by getting direct sunlight or by shining strong LED torch on it. It is misleading to call it backlighting at all as it is not LED backlighting, but a luminous tape behind the buttons. The tape is phot0-luminescent type and very weak light under the best conditions. DO NOT USE IT FOR ANY SAFETY RELATED SITUATIONS.
