MacGyver no. no major heat issues. it gets warm but not hot. i have it sitting ontop of my shelf with free air flow. it is silent, there is no fan. i still use it, and it works very well for YuTube, Ntflix, Sptify etc

MacGyver@kolkoskylo you can control with remote as 'arrow pointer' > < ^ v ...but this is slow and very frustrating. only remote controls power & volume. i use a wireless usb mouse, works great as cursor and never need the remote (only for volume & power). i watch lots of ntflix and always use a mouse.
MacGyver@philipeschmulian Update Oct '22 still using this unit to control humidity in the bedroom/wardrobes. hasn't skipped a beat. motor is still quiet and moisture collection is substantial. so far, so good. no regrets
MacGyver yes. i do not use ethernet or wifi internet, just standalone. you may see a small warning icon in the bottom left corner when there is no internet. unit works fine without internet.. you can use usb to upgrade backup.

MacGyver yes and no. the remote has arrows that moves the cursor slowly. looks like a mouse but works very slow. it is better to plug in a usb mouse or wireless mouse. i tested, it works great.

MacGyver no temperature when switched Off. it gets warm under normal operating conditions. will get hot when using High Processor Power Apps. this is like a computer in a small box. works normal.

MacGyver 53mm across and 30mm high. a little smaller if removed from plastic housing.

MacGyver i have the same WD purple hdd.. and i get the same issue.. motion detection isn't always sensitive and the playback stops early (or doesn't detect movement from a distance at night). most of the time it works well. PTZ camera works a little better than bullet camera. i dont know how to resolve this.
