It took a few minutes from initial power up to get a fix. Hooked it up to my pc using serial to USB converter and used putty to view the output at 9600.

You have to download the drivers using the links supplied on a card in the package. We want to use scope for imaging motion picture film and the lowest magnification, 50x, can see a 16mm film at full width. It looks like capturing 8mm will be no problem at ~120x magnification. Once the drivers are installed it can be used with Open Broadcast Studio (OSB) to record high resolution videos at 30fps.

I never used the US warehouse before and was surprised how fast it arrived. Both units came preprogrammed, one as a receiver and the other as a transmitter. They worked out of the box . Be sure to connect the antennas before powering them up.

The transmitter frequency is relatively easy to set and covers full band. Sound quality is good. Haven't tried the uSD card yet. The bridge wire is long, so it gives you a lot of flexibility in placing the display. I had a Sirius satellite radio which had an FM antenna sub-miniature phone plug output which runs to the radio antenna on the back window. I would like to connects a small coil so the radiated FM would be sent to the window. So far very happy with the unit.

This kit contains most of the electronics needed to build an IR remote controlled device. I have gotten the 16 x 2 LCD display working using the provide 74HC595. The IR receiver and remote working and the stepping motor. I haven't worked with the other display devices, but so far everything worked. Great kit. Could use some male to female Dupont wires to connect to the stepper motor driver. Stepper motor needs independent 5V power if you want it to have any torque.

Great light, love that it dims. I use a can lid attached to the magnetic base to use it as desk lamp. Be sure to tighten the magnet by screwing into the base, so it doesn't wiggle.

The instructions and picture in the product description do not tell you the correct way of winding the L1 primary coil. The picture shows counter clockwise winding up from the connection lower hole for L1. In this configuration, LED 1 didn't light. I found a review that suggested reversing the winding would make it work. Winding it clockwise up from the bottom made it work correctly. If you want to make sparks from the unconnected secondary coil, I recommend adding a small ball or crimp terminal to the end off the wire, because thin wire melts when it arcs. Also be careful of the L1 winding wire near HV wire, even the leads of the neon bulb, because the insulation isn't HV resistant and an arc from the neon bulb burnt through it. Mine seems to "work" with input voltage as low as 12 VDC input.

The unit gooks good, the brass finished base plate , with the brass flywheel and motor mount. It didn't run on my first attempt. Took apart displacement piston and had to adjust the large plastic washer so it is properly centered at the very edge of the tube. I changed back to the glass cylinder for the heated end, so I could see the alignment better. The cylinders are just pressed onto 2 rubber washers, so you have to adjust them to get smooth operation. After that the engine ran like a champ. The flame was a little too large, so I blew it out and the engine ran for almost a minute without the flame. Still have to see how much electricity it can generate.

The microscope camera works well. Picture is bright and clear. Haven't yet figured out how to control either optical nor digital zoom.

ZZZip No,it cannot. It is hard-wired to a fixed brightness, and stays lit as long as power is connected to the Raspberry Pi. This is, in my opinion, the biggest issue with this display.

The one I received didn't have the red handle. Didn't notice it even had one until I saw the picture for the review, so didn't expect it anyway. Other than that it works great.

I actually only really wanted the collets, which fit my 2 D cell battery power drill. I would like to find a 3D print files for putting the motor in a case so I can use the new motor as another drill. Both the collets and the motor are great.
