The funnel on the bottom of the lid is not steep enough so some liquid stays on this area and when you close the lid, the hole inside seals with some liquid still inside the lid that can't go down to the main body. If the liquid gathered there is relatively enough, it will start to drip from the lid's hinges when you tilt the Thermos.

I'm not altogether convinced that it is better insulated than other types, although it managed to keep water cool all day. I compared it with a 1lt. flask which actually kept water cool for longer, although maybe that was due to the extra size. For single-handed operation, however, the Viomi is hard to beat.
