Works really well for 1d barcodes. Can be triggered by button, serial code or left in continuous scan mode. Only 2D codes supported are QR Codes .. which need plenty of light. Does not support Data Matrix or PDF417 barcodes (from what I can tell from testing and from the documentation). Has a built in LED light (which can be controlled - turned off/dimmed via command codes) and a red "laser" read line Highly recommend downloading the manual which allows you to configure the settings by scanning

Tried once, quick with 1D codes, sometimes struggles with QR codes, especially dense ones. Requires steady hands. Interface choice is a great feature.

Works fine. Not the cheapest but does what it needs to do.
