I'm not using it for a boat, so I can't comment on whether it's good for that application, but it suits my needs nicely.
I suppose if you are using it inside a boat, you don't care what colour it is, but in my application, the hoses are visible but I'm OK with the fact that it's actually blue, and not clear as shown in the photo. I did take off one star for the photo and description not matching the actual colour. There are, after all, some people for whom this might be an issue.
