This set is advertised on this page as stainless steel and aluminum...this is INCORRECT. Both the tips and the handles are stainless and are made very secure. The finish is a tiny bit rough and might damage pins so I sanded both tips and handles with 100 grit for about an hour until they were 'personalized' and burnished to my liking. The tip selection is excellent and there are not many that I will not use...similarly the torsion wrenches. Being a former professional mechanic I knew a way to get the handles on without too much wrestling and blood. As I showed in the pictures, I let the handles sit in very hot water for a few minutes...this made it softer and more malleable and they slid on the pick handles without much struggle. I pushed them on as far as I could by hand and then, with the aid of a washcloth and a vice I lightly held the tip in the vice while persuading the handle as far as it would go. In a few cases I lubed the handle with a bit of soapy lather to ease it further. Don't use grease, grease stays forever and if it doesn't rot the plastic the handles might slip off later, while soap dries and later, if you have trouble getting them off, simply soak in hot water and the soap releases. We used to install VW Beatles windshields using this trick. Hope the pictures and words are of some use. Great set with a nice nylon mesh-type zippered case. HIGHLY recommended
