The magnifier is great for either holding very small wires ready for accurate soldering and the iron holder removes the risk of burns substantially. It can as I use it also be used to hold very small objects or insects in pace allowing the DSLR to get a very close up photograph without the insect or flower disappearing and the light adds the fact that NO flash gun is needed to illuminate the item. All in all a fantastic purchase if you want to solder or more so photograph minute items without spending vast sums of money on Macro Lenses.

Easy to put together and works fine. A couple of things: The light is rather flimsy and will crack if you actually hold it by the light while aiming it. I'll need to epoxy it closed, breaking it did allow the light to pivot so it's easier to aim now. I just need to keep it from splitting completely. The alligator clips could scrape and damage the circuitboard, i wrapped it in heatshrink to take take the edges off and it still seems to keep a good grip. See pic.

Plastic casing and magnifying lens assembly was very light.... So I attached a small stainless sheet to the side of plastic casing to adjust the center of gravity... And it works.
