This product is perfect for SMD, through hole or heatsink soldering. The consistency is perfect, not runny but sticks to the board and component, melts and flows ideally, and whilst these are quite large needles, you can easily change the needle for one to suit your board and smd sizes. The nozzle unscrews and screws back on so saving the product from drying out, and the plunger pushes against a internal stopper under the red cap, so it doesn't dry out there either, the needles are short so you don't waste much of the product (as you can't draw it back into the syringe like you can a regular syringe, but I don't care!). It leaves a little flux residue, but other than that this is by far the best of the several pastes and paste laying products I've used over the past few years. It withstood the temperature of the heat sink getting too hot to touch, the board I did passed it's shakedown tests, and whilst I can't comment on the shelf life, but stored correctly this product should do better then the paste sold in pots

I really love this paste. Perfect for SMD soldering. It really does solder at low temps. I will be buying again. Just a slight issue. I did squeeze one of the needle tips to get a more controlled flow for really small components. Since I want to keep the plungers and needles it's best to clean them when finished.

the kit is inserted in its plastic envelope. I have not yet tested the paste with my SMD kits. My only concern now is for the needles that are a little bit bent, I hope that there are no problem in dispensing the solder paste. I purchased to try out as an alternative to leaded stuff, but this stuff is a bit more finicky to work with. I prefer using solder paste when working with direct wires, seems easier, but this stuff is best suited for SMD work and for that it works great. Low melting point is great if you have heat sensitive components. Overall, not a bad product, but for more versatile use I would prefer the leaded stuff. One thing that is great is that it comes with the plunger and tips unlike other products. Would highly recommend for SMD use.
