Chip on board (COB) music chip with supporting logic to make 16 different sounds. Includes a header to interface the kit with a micro-controller if desired. Soldering can be a little fiddly with the COB mounted sideways. Nitpick: Please update the kit to include a 3x AA cell holder with a switch.

This is a very good kit and full value for the money Ensure all solder pads are cleaned with a 'Gold Rubber' or ultra fine emery paper especially the daughter board which also needs tining prior to soldering Attached photos shows important orientation of the three diodes. Large diode protects the 5v from incorrect connection. Although the device must be powered by a stabilized 5v such as USB power

Got 3 of this kits , when assembled 1st didn't probably damaged special ic + switches, 2nd works perfectly , 3rd damaged some switches now wtg for some switches and a cp8061 ic from aboard the will fix and finish off. Be careful when fitting switches - fix by outer "lugs" solder those in place and trim leads from switch then solder those in place. The special ic on a board CP8061 takes care when soldering just make sure that the tabs you solder to at the base line up with those on the underside on
